It’s been a bit of a wild ride, but Made by Momoko has been my full-time work for about two years now. I feel incredibly fortunate to say that business has been good, and I’ve had the chance to work with some awesome clients along the way. And as my workload has grown, I’ve been taking baby steps toward building up my team.
Last year, I was thrilled to collaborate with Diane Boytang on an accessibility-focused website update for The Nina which was a fantastic experience, and I’m proud of the work we accomplished together. This year I’ve been working with the amazing designer Amanda Schutz on a new project (more to come!) and am equally happy about the collab.
Now, I’m excited to share that I’ve taken on two interns via the Experience Ventures Program for March and April. Kaye, who specializes in web development, and Vishva, a marketing whiz, have joined the Made by Momoko team!
I’m thrilled to have them on board and eager to see what we can accomplish together. And maybe a little nervous! Because even though I have managed and worked with interns in the past, it’s a little different when you work on your very own venture. But here’s to a great time for us and hopefully to a great experience for both of them!
Meet Vishvha
Hi, my name is Vishva! I’m a marketing intern at Made by Momoko.
I am currently a full time student at the University of Alberta majoring in Accounting and minoring in Business Technology Management. In my free time, I like to dance, read and listen to music.
I was introduced to Sonia and her company Made By Momoko through the University of Alberta’s “Experience Ventures” program. Currently. I’m working on helping Sonia revamp her website and social media by making posts just like this one!
I am excited to continue working for her and learn along the way.
Meet Kaye
Hi, my name is Kaye! I’m a web development intern at Made by Momoko.
I started working with Sonia through a program called “Experience Ventures.” which pairs university students with business owners around Edmonton to get hands-on-experience with a career of interest. Currently, I’m working developing “Keramik-Patlan”, a pottery website and store based in Germany. One of the most valuable things I’ve learned so far is how to analyze a website and figure out a plan of action based on the design of the site.
I’m a full-time student at the University of Alberta, majoring in computer science and psychology. Interning with Made by Momoko has helped me begin to discover the intersection between my two majors! In my spare time, I love walking my dog, rock climbing and watching anime.
I’m really excited to see what I can learn from Sonia.
