About The Project
Wildflower & Main Editorial, founded by fantasy developmental editor Sarah, launched in early summer 2024. She needed a website that reflected her warm, supportive, and analytical approach to editing while providing an inviting space for authors seeking guidance. This project was unique in that Sarah came exceptionally well-prepared with thoughtful assets, making the collaboration smooth and highly effective.
Approach
Sarah’s preparation set this project apart. She had already done extensive research and provided a well-aligned page structure that closely matched my usual recommendations for UX and conversion optimization. She also created a Pinterest mood board, a clearly defined logo and color palette, and excellent copy. While I refined and enhanced the final design, her strong preparation meant that the result stayed very close to her vision. The final site, built with WordPress and Elementor, aligns seamlessly with her brand identity and provides a professional yet welcoming online presence that speaks directly to fantasy authors.
For most website projects, I guide clients through the process of refining their structure, copy, and design. Many clients have a rough idea of what content they want on their site and how it should look, but my role is to shape that into an optimized structure and build a custom design. This can also include creating color palettes, style guides, and, when needed, collaborating with designers. I don’t expect clients to arrive with a fully developed structure or brand identity—part of my job is to help translate their ideas into an effective digital presence.
Sarah’s approach, with her clear vision and well-organized assets, made the collaboration exceptionally efficient. However, for clients who need more guidance, I ensure that their website is thoughtfully structured, visually compelling, and strategically designed for user experience and conversion.

The collaboration with Sarah was a testament to how strong preparation can lead to an efficient and rewarding design process. Her ability to articulate what she wanted for her business and provide concrete materials enabled me to create a website that not only represents her desired feel but also functions smoothly for her audience. The end result is a site that supports her work as an editor and helps authors feel confident in taking the next steps toward refining their manuscripts.
