Project Overview
Winterruption YEG, a winter music and arts festival in downtown Edmonton, required a website redesign to align with their new brand identity. The redesign included integrating a fresh style guide created by Jill Stanton, while maintaining the existing site structure for ease of updates.
Design Process
A significant part of the redesign revolved around incorporating the new style guide. The guide provided by Jill Stanton featured a bold color palette, modern typography, and a logo that perfectly captured the festival’s energetic and inclusive spirit.
The new style included multiple graphic elements that reflected the festival’s eclectic vibe, and I implemented the site to bring out those playful and dynamic touches. Every page was structured to ensure that the vibrant branding was consistent across the site, whether users were exploring artist profiles or checking the event schedule.
Challenges and Solutions
The main challenge was integrating the new design within the existing WordPress structure without overhauling content management workflows. This was essential since the festival organizers regularly update bands, venues, and sponsor details themselves. Using Elementor Pro, I created reusable components to ensure consistency while keeping future updates simple for the client.

Results
The redesigned Winterruption YEG website launched with a fresh, cohesive look that truly reflected the festival’s new brand. With improved navigation and ease of content management, the site became a powerful tool for engaging festival-goers and promoting events. The new style guide provided a consistent visual identity across all pages, and the client was able to easily maintain the site post-launch, ensuring they could keep it updated as the festival evolved.
